Do you know how hard it is to find a post-2020 photo that is not a selfie in sweats?

This should probably just read ‘Hi Mum, Dad & Family’ because
they are my intended, and likely only, audience.

However, if by chance you find yourself here too, welcome; and yes, it is 2022, not 2004, and I have started a blog.

The inspiration came when I saw an old contact announce their departure from social media and move to a personal blog.

Having contemplated deleting social media for some time, mostly because I get weird levels of rage and annoyance whenever I see people doing those dance trends (to be clear, that is a problem with me, not the people doing them), I liked the idea of getting rid of social media with the added challenge of replacing the time I would have used mindlessly scrolling to writing something on a regular cadence.

So, here we are.

As someone who has not shared a meaningful piece of content on the internet, ever, the thought of trying to come up with “something” to share is terrifying, even if it is to an audience of three, but I’m determined to give it a go as part of this odd little personal experiment.

Additionally, I also saw this as a far more sophisticated place to store, maintain and easily share my NYC Recommendations, which has been kicking around in an excel spreadsheet for the past four years. Now we just need to hope this year we can have the hordes of family, friends, friends of friends etc. back visiting this part of the world so it can be of use!

I’ll be sharing regularly under ‘Ramblings’ and chipping away at my ‘New York City Recommendations’ over the coming months. Check back if you are interested, subscribe if your name is John, Cheryl or Alexa Miller.
